Check you don't have multiple version of Office installed. I work from home and having this issue with every file I open was putting me over the edge. By the way, before creating ID_00000.DPC, I had already tried ID_00011.DPC and ID_00051.DPC.
I'm not sure if this fix will work with Windows 7, but I know it works with XP & Vista.

The one disadvantage of this is that you cannot uninstall the program before renaming the file back to the original name, but people rarely uninstall it anyways... It was event ID related to opening word file which gave correct direction to me whereas the ID related to Outlook was not so specific and action from word event id So I guess that's it for me. Thanks. Rebooted my system and all was ok.
