or missing folder, maybe someone changed the name of the folder ..

Since the weekend both have started to hang when I try to use "Save As" or "Open" with Word 2003 or Excel 2003. sometimes I still get the error and it shuts ms word down. first, how do I back up the registery? No way to know how to find that out. Is it safe to have no `/home` partition?
